Taiwo Adekanye is a writer, documentary producer, script writer, director, music composer, music director, singer, instrumentalist and researcher. Her areas of specialization are media, documentary film and music. She is the music director of Julie Darling Orchestra which started as a children orchestra in 2007.

Twice her orchestra staged the JULIE DARLING ORCHESTRA CONCERTS IN COMMEMORATION OF WORLD PEACE DAY SEPTEMBER 21, Julie Darling 15National Anthems Concert 2019 and Julie Darling 15 National Anthems Concert 2022. She has composed several orchestra pieces and violin solos for her orchestra as well as school anthems. Amongst them are: Blue Dale (Violin Solo), Old Caravan (Violin Solo) Julie’s March (Orchestra Piece), Jubilee Anthem and Benford International School Abuja Anthem. Julie’s March is GLOBAL LIGHT’s theme music used for the end credit. Julie Darling Orchestra is known for her national anthem performances.
She has in her portfolio 28 documentaries, 26 of which are on YouTube @taiwoadekanye6295. Her documentaries celebrate nations on their independent anniversary dates, celebrate Nigerians in the diaspora and also special events and dates of nations. Her documentaries always have a trade and investment undertone. She also has a documentary THE PEOPLE ASSEMBLY on YouTube which is dedicated to diaspora issues and concerns.
Recently, she started an independent program on NTA News24 Second Quarter – GLOBAL LIGHT, showing every Tuesday at 8:30pm on DSTV Channel 419, GOTV Channel 46, Startimes Channel 101 and FreeTV Channel 703. GLOBAL LIGHT is a program that features issues from a global perspective.
