PROFILE OF DR. FLORENCE EDWARDS
Doctor of Divinity, a Theologian, Former School Teacher, Agriculturalist, Farmer, Woman Leader and a Humanitarian Advocate. With great difficulties, she emerged as the Woman National President in 1st Agriculture Commodities, who faced strong oppositions from every sector. She is a Global Goodwill Ambassador, member of Amnesty International and SheTrade Commonwealth Nigeria, Hails from Anambra State, Schooled in Kano State, currently the President of Ginger Growers and Marketers Association (GGMA is the only National Commodity Association which has Women heading its affairs in the 36 states of the Federation), She is also the Chairperson, Board of Trustees (BoT) of African Food Spices Producers and Marketers Association. She has established more than 200 thousand farmers in 30 states of Nigeria with the aim of expanding to all the 36 states, breaking the ideology that Ginger can only be grown in the Northern region of Nigeria.
Her capability as a great Manager, Administrator, Business Mogul, a Goal Getter that has passion in Agriculture. This Lead to her establishing Turmeric Dealers Association of Nigeria and Spice Dealers Association in line to the expansion of Ginger (as Nigeria has the Spiciest Ginger in the world), Turmeric and other Spices grown in Nigeria Global Market is her target.
Her determination towards enriching and uplifting those in the Rural Area – Grass Root Farmers knows no bounds as she seeks the improvement of WOMEN and YOUTHS in all regions of the Nation through Agriculture; with her slogan: “PUTTING A SMILE ON THE NEEDY IS MY PASSION”. Furthermore, her NGO: “WOMEN FARMING WITHOUT BORDERS” is aimed at empowering women (it is known that women are labourers on Ginger Farms and Processing Sites).
