Charles Degold Gomez is the Country Director for The Gambia at the U.S.-Africa Trade Commission. A Certified Social Entrepreneur, Peace and Conflict Trainer, Business Coach, Mentor, Motivational Speaker and Disability Rights and Social Inclusion Advocate who has faced challenges with visual impairment. These experiences ignited past and current passion of advocating for the rights and social inclusion of young people, especially persons with disabilities.
Championing the cause of young people both in and outside The Gambia, impacting many young lives and developing global networks. He is among one thousand young people who participated in the 2019 UNLEASH global sustainable initiative of UN SDGs in Shenzhen, China, a Silver Award Recipient during UNLEASH Global Innovation Lab pitching contest under SDG4 Quality Education, and a 2016 Mandela Washington Fellowship for young African leaders Alumni in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania USA.
Charles Degold Gomez is the Vice president of Carifika Gambia chapter, a nonprofit international organization established to create a unified social and economic system for African and Caribbean people to strengthen, preserve and rebuild wealth, education, health, culture, spiritual development and a wide range of resources for generations to come.
He also serves as a board member of the United States Exchange Program Alumni Network (US EPAN) as the program manager.
Charles Degold Gomez is the founder of BethGold Foundation, a registered not-for-profit organization that ensures the provisions of quality inclusive education and real-world exposure for all children with disabilities.
His vision is to see an inclusive society that never doubts the potential of Persons with Disabilities.
