Bemnet Legesse is on internship with the Trade Commission. She is Committed and driven undergraduate student with a passion for international and domestic development work. Specializing in government and economics at William & Mary, her coursework has equipped her with robust research, analytical, and theoretical skills. Particularly interested in the development challenges of North, East, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Eager to apply her knowledge and contribute meaningfully to the field of development.

Bemnet is a member of William & Mary’s second cohort of Posse Scholars, students who receive full-tuition fellowships after prevailing in a national and intensively competitive interview process. The Posse Foundation’s goals center on democratizing leadership by offering opportunity to aspiring students whose paths to the sixty-some partner universities would otherwise be less clear. Initially designed with retention top of mind, the Posse Scholarship today seeks to give students every opportunity to make the most of university life.
